Stockton police say they arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the December killing of a woman found in the Civic District. The case dates to Dec. 12, when officers responded to the 400 block of East Lindsay Street and found the victim unresponsive with what police described as an apparent laceration to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the suspect as Luis Zavalza and said he was already being held on another alleged crime before detectives named him the primary suspect in the homicide.
