The Thornton Police Department is now accepting applications for its Spring 2026 Citizens Police Academy, starting April 8th. Designed for community members aged 55 and older, this program offers a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement, helping participants better understand the daily responsibilities and challenges faced by police officers. The academy also provides valuable information on life and health planning, along with practical tips to help prevent property crimes and stay safe in the community.
Sessions will be held once a week for six weeks, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thornton Active Adult Center, located at 11181 Colorado Boulevard. For more information or to apply, visit the Thornton Police Department’s official website.
