Wilcox Contracting Submits Lowest Bid for Harrison’s 2026 Three-Street Project
HARRISON, MI — Wilcox Contracting LLC submitted the lowest listed bid for the City of Harrison’s 2026 three-street project, according to an as-read bid tabulation for bids opened July 30.
The bid opening took place at 10 a.m. at Harrison City Hall. The city’s tabulation lists Wilcox Contracting LLC’s total bid at $315,260.72.
Three bids were listed
The official tabulation lists these total bids:
- Wilcox Contracting LLC: $315,260.72
- DJ McQuestion & Sons: $342,577.00
- Reiley Contracting: $349,253.55
Based on the published amounts, Wilcox is the apparent low bidder. The document records the bids as read at the opening; it does not state that the city accepted a bid or awarded a contract.
Isabella, Lakeview and Wilson streets included
The project covers paving and related improvements on Isabella Street, Lakeview Street and Wilson Street in Harrison. The city’s project information was updated July 14 to specify HMA Mixture 4EL, an asphalt mixture included in the bid requirements.
At this stage, the official records establish that the city solicited bids and published three submitted totals for work on the three streets. They do not establish when construction would begin, whether traffic controls or closures will be needed, or when work would be completed.
Contract award still needs confirmation
Wilcox Contracting should not yet be described as the final contractor. The bid tabulation does not include a council approval, final contract terms, funding details, construction schedule or final project cost. It also does not establish any effect on taxes or assessments.
Harrison’s City Council posts agendas and minutes through the city’s CivicWeb portal. The city’s 2026 meeting calendar lists August 3 and August 17 as council meeting dates. Residents following the project can review future agendas, minutes and voting records for an award decision and later scheduling information.
