Club Fortune North fully reopens in North Las Vegas after reported $2.8M makeover

The former Poker Palace has fully reopened in North Las Vegas as Club Fortune North, restoring a longtime neighborhood casino while changing the gaming options available at the site.

The property at 2757 N. Las Vegas Blvd., North Las Vegas, NV 89030, held a reported soft opening on July 19 and fully reopened July 22 after an extensive renovation. FOX5 Vegas reported that Truckee Gaming’s renovation cost $2.8 million.

What changed at the former Poker Palace

Recent reporting says Club Fortune North has more than 450 slot machines, redesigned dining service, an expanded bar and a Boomer’s Sportsbook. The reopening gives residents another local option for slots, food, drinks and sports wagering at the former Poker Palace location.

The biggest change for returning customers is what did not return. Recent reporting says Club Fortune North does not have a poker room or live dealer-operated table games such as blackjack and roulette. The redesigned venue is therefore focused primarily on slot play, food and beverage service, and sports and race wagering.

That makes the reopening more than a name change. North Las Vegas residents who used Poker Palace for poker or traditional table games will find a materially different set of options at the same address.

What the Nevada licensing record shows

The Nevada Gaming Commission’s June 25 agenda identifies Poker Palace Investments LLC doing business as Club Fortune Casino North at the North Las Vegas address. It lists GR Regency Gaming LLC as the 100% member and manager and includes applications for a nonrestricted gaming license with a race book and sports pool, off-track pari-mutuel race wagering, and related manufacturer, distributor, member and manager licenses.

The agenda shows the Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended approval with conditions for the Club Fortune North item. Those conditions included filing a key-employee application and having the surveillance system and any mirrors inspected and approved by the Control Board within 60 days of issuance of the state gaming license. The record supports the licensing structure and sportsbook-related applications, but the conditions remain part of the regulatory framework for the operation.

What the reopening means locally

For North Las Vegas residents, the practical change is the return of a familiar casino property after its closure and renovation. The building is operating again, but the customer experience has been redesigned around slot machines and sports betting instead of the poker room and live tables associated with Poker Palace.

Customers seeking slots, food, drinks or a sportsbook can now visit the reopened venue at the former Poker Palace site. Customers specifically seeking poker or live dealer-operated table games will need to use another location.
