Palmdale District 5 council nomination deadline is Friday

Palmdale’s nomination period for one City Council District 5 seat ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, setting the immediate deadline for candidates seeking a place on the city’s Nov. 3, 2026, Consolidated General Municipal Election ballot.

The city is accepting filings for one District 5 councilmember position with a four-year term. Nomination documents became available July 13, beginning the filing period listed by the City of Palmdale.

District 5 could receive an additional five days if the incumbent does not file by 5 p.m. Friday. Under the city’s notice, the affected district’s nomination period would then remain open until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.
