Charlotte-area pump prices ease again: Regular $3.526, diesel $4.706 (6/29/26)

Charlotte-area drivers got another small break in the latest AAA fuel-price check. As of June 29, 2026, AAA’s Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill metro averages place regular at $3.526 a gallon and diesel at $4.706 a gallon.

Regular gas: down versus yesterday, last week, and last month

AAA’s metro average for regular gasoline was $3.526/gal with a reported “Price as of 6/29/26” date. That’s lower than $3.536 on June 28 and lower than $3.533 from a week earlier. The longer view stays favorable compared with recent peaks: regular is also down from $4.051 (month ago), though it remains above $2.966 (year ago).

Diesel: also easing, with bigger drops versus last week and last month

AAA lists diesel at $4.706/gal as of June 29, down from $4.721 yesterday and down from $4.780 a week ago. Diesel has eased more versus longer timeframes too: $4.706 is lower than $5.283 (month ago) and higher than $3.555 (year ago).

From the June 26 site fuel update, prices have eased further: regular fell from $3.564 to $3.526, and diesel eased from $4.745 to $4.706.

What this means for commuters and fleet/delivery costs

For daily commuters, the direction here is straightforward: a lower metro average generally points to slightly cheaper fill-ups versus yesterday and last week, though individual stations can still vary. For delivery drivers and other fleet users, diesel is a direct operating cost—so even modest week-to-week easing can matter over multiple route refuels.

For national context, AAA’s U.S. averages also nudged lower as of 6/29/26: regular was $3.860 (down from $3.867 yesterday) and diesel was $4.859 (down from $4.887 yesterday).
