Eagle Road interchange repaving begins in Meridian, Idaho Transportation Department says
Repaving at the Eagle Road interchange in Meridian was scheduled to begin Thursday, July 23, after the Idaho Transportation Department announced the project July 22.
ITD warned travelers using the interchange to expect nighttime restrictions, delays and extra travel time while the work is underway. The department did not provide a projected completion date, a detailed lane-restriction schedule or a total project cost in the information released with the announcement.
Nighttime restrictions expected
The work is repaving at the Eagle Road interchange, not a separately described broader reconstruction project. ITD’s notice identifies nighttime work as the period when travelers should anticipate restrictions and possible delays.
People traveling through the interchange, including residents and commuters using the Meridian route, may need to allow additional time for overnight trips. The department’s warning applies to travel conditions during the project; it does not set out exact lane restrictions or the duration of individual work periods.
ITD did not announce that the interchange would be fully closed. Motorists should instead expect restrictions during nighttime work and should use current travel information to determine conditions before they leave.
Where to check conditions
ITD directed motorists to its 511 travel-information service and the 511 mobile application for current information on restrictions and delays. Those resources may provide the most current conditions as the repaving proceeds, since the July 22 announcement did not include a detailed schedule.
Travelers can also sign up for project updates by texting 84CORRIDOR to 1-866-483-8422.
What is known next
The known start date was July 23, 2026. Beyond that start, ITD’s announcement did not specify when repaving would be complete or identify a final date for nighttime travel impacts.
For now, the agency’s guidance is for people using the Eagle Road interchange to plan for restrictions, delays and extra travel time, particularly during nighttime work, and to consult ITD’s travel updates before traveling through the area.
