Absentee Voting Underway at Sheboygan Residential Facilities Ahead of April 7 Election
Sheboygan, WI – March 25, 2026 – City officials are bringing absentee voting to residential facilities this week ahead of the April 7 election.
Absentee voting is in full swing across several of Sheboygan’s residential care facilities as the city prepares for the April 7 spring election.
Voting Comes to Residents
Special Voting Deputies appointed by the City of Sheboygan are visiting local facilities this week to help eligible residents cast absentee ballots in person. The effort is designed to ensure that voters who are unable or unwilling to travel to their assigned polling place still have access to the ballot.
Stops earlier this week included Morningside Health Services and both Shores of Sheboygan campuses on March 23, followed by Sheboygan Progressive Health Services and Sheboygan Health Services on March 24.
On Wednesday, March 25, deputies are scheduled to visit Golden Harbor in the morning and Edenbrook Sheboygan in the afternoon. Lakehouse Sheboygan is set for Thursday morning.
Who Is Eligible
To participate, voters must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old on Election Day, and have lived in their ward or municipality for at least 28 consecutive days prior to the election. Voters must also be registered. While mail-in registration deadlines have passed, Wisconsin allows in-person registration through Election Day.
Family members may be present while residents vote, and official observers from the two major political parties are permitted to accompany the deputies during the sessions.
Looking Ahead to April 7
The spring election will be held Tuesday, April 7. In addition to facility voting, absentee ballots can be requested by eligible voters, and in-person absentee voting options are available through the city clerk’s office.
City officials say the goal is simple: make sure every eligible resident has a safe and accessible opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
