ALDOT begins overnight resurfacing on SR-255 service roads in Huntsville
Huntsville drivers on SR-255/Research Park Boulevard should expect single-lane overnight closures as ALDOT resurfaces the service roads through summer.

ALDOT says the $1.6 million project began the evening of Sunday, May 10, and the work is confined to the service roads, not the mainline of Research Park Boulevard. The resurfacing covers the stretch from north of U.S. 72 to north of SR-53.
The schedule matters most for evening and overnight travel. Crews are expected to work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights, with single-lane closures in place during those hours. For commuters, nearby residents, and local businesses, that means the most likely disruptions should come after dark rather than during the day.
ALDOT expects the project to be finished sometime this summer, but it has not given a specific completion date. Drivers should watch for changing lane patterns and updated traffic control in the work zone, especially if weather or paving conditions affect the schedule.
