Arlington ISD bus crash leaves cyclist dead
Police said a 67-year-old bicyclist, William Roberts, died after a collision with an Arlington ISD school bus on Feb. 18 near Treecrest Drive and Interstate 20. Investigators said the bus was making a right turn when the cyclist approached; four students were on board, and the driver stopped to call 911 and render aid. As of Wednesday, no criminal charges had been filed.

Municipal Court warrant drive runs Feb. 23 to March 13
The city has started its annual warrant resolution push, encouraging people with outstanding citations or warrants to contact Municipal Court and come into compliance. Collection agency fees will be waived on warrants paid in full during the program window, according to the city.
150th anniversary tree effort aims for 150 trees a month
As part of Arlington’s 150th anniversary year, the city says it plans to plant about 150 native trees per month across parks, medians, and other public spaces. The first plantings this week added new trees at J.W. Dunlop Park, with more volunteer and giveaway opportunities to be announced.

Six Flags Over Texas opens its 65th anniversary season Feb. 28
Six Flags Over Texas is set to open Saturday morning for a yearlong 65th anniversary celebration, including special events and historic exhibits. The park has also teased a new 65th Anniversary Museum later this season, plus a major new coaster project still awaiting an opening date.
Free local events list highlights libraries and River Legacy
A new city roundup of no-cost activities through March 1 includes an adult tea tasting program, a River Legacy Nature Center creature feature, a Black History Month artist reception downtown, and a family-friendly bike fun-ride at River Legacy Park.
