Arlington-area regular gas slips to $3.277 and diesel to $4.301
AAA’s June 22 Fort Worth-Arlington check shows regular gas and diesel easing again, with metro averages still below Texas and U.S. levels.
Regular gasoline in the Fort Worth-Arlington metro fell to $3.277 a gallon in AAA’s June 22, 2026, check, down from $3.294 the day before. Diesel also moved lower, falling to $4.301 from $4.336.
The local price point matters for Arlington drivers because AAA’s figure is a metro average, not a standalone City of Arlington average. Still, it is the best current local benchmark for commuters using I-20, SH 360 and other DFW-area routes, as well as households, contractors and delivery drivers comparing what they are seeing at nearby stations.
Regular gas moved lower from Sunday and last week
AAA listed Fort Worth-Arlington regular gasoline at $3.277 on June 22, down from $3.294 on June 21 and $3.329 a week earlier. That keeps the local metro average below AAA’s Texas average of $3.418 and below the U.S. average of $3.929 for regular gasoline on the same date.
For families making school, camp, grocery and work trips around Arlington, the daily change is modest on a single fill-up. The week-over-week direction is still useful for budgeting, especially for drivers who fill multiple vehicles or make repeated cross-town and freeway trips.
Diesel also eased, but remains much higher than regular
Diesel in the Fort Worth-Arlington metro averaged $4.301 on June 22, according to AAA. That was down from $4.336 on June 21 and $4.498 a week earlier.
The diesel average also remained below AAA’s Texas diesel average of $4.417 and the U.S. diesel average of $5.013. Even with the latest easing, diesel remains more than $1 above regular gas in the metro average, which is a real cost issue for towing operators, contractors, landscapers, delivery fleets, trades, food service suppliers and other service businesses that depend on diesel vehicles.
Those costs can show up indirectly in local bills, delivery minimums, contractor estimates and restaurant supply costs. The latest AAA numbers do not explain why prices moved, but they do give residents and businesses a current benchmark before the next workweek’s driving and delivery schedules.
One Arlington station shows why pump shopping still matters
A 7-Eleven station listing for 700 W. Interstate 20 in Arlington showed regular gasoline at $3.039 and diesel at $4.099, with fuel prices marked as updated within 24 hours. That is one station-level listing, not proof of the citywide or metro average.
Still, it shows why local drivers may want to compare nearby pumps before filling up. Station prices can vary by location, brand, freeway access, payment method and timing, so a driver heading across Arlington for errands or a weekend trip may see prices meaningfully above or below the AAA metro average.
Federal data points to broader easing before the next update
The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s most recent weekly fuel update was dated June 16, 2026, with the next release scheduled for June 23. That federal report showed U.S. regular gasoline at $4.052, down 9.4 cents from the prior week, and U.S. diesel at $5.059, down 15.1 cents.
For the Gulf Coast region, the EIA listed regular gasoline at $3.521, down 12.2 cents from the prior week, and diesel at $4.646, down 14 cents. That broader weekly context lines up with the local daily easing shown by AAA, but it should not be treated as June 22 daily data.
For now, Arlington-area drivers can watch whether the June 23 EIA update confirms continued regional easing, and whether AAA’s Fort Worth-Arlington average keeps moving lower. Readers are invited to share the highest and lowest regular gas and diesel prices they are seeing around Arlington.
