Arlington-area gas and diesel ease again, staying below Texas averages
Arlington TX Gas & Diesel Watch – AAA shows regular at $3.294 and diesel at $4.336, both lower again and still below Texas and U.S. averages.
AAA’s June 21 check shows fuel prices easing again in the Fort Worth-Arlington metro. Regular gas averaged $3.294 a gallon and diesel averaged $4.336. Both are lower than they were yesterday, last week, and last month, and both remain below the Texas and U.S. AAA averages.
Regular gas keeps drifting down
For drivers buying unleaded, the latest Metroplex average is a modest bit of relief rather than a dramatic drop. AAA’s Fort Worth-Arlington regular price is down from $3.323 yesterday, $3.343 last week, and $4.112 a month ago. That means a fill-up costs a little less for commuters crossing town, parents shuttling kids, and weekend travelers headed out of Arlington.
Diesel is lower too, but still well above a year ago
Diesel also eased, with the metro average at $4.336 compared with $4.373 yesterday, $4.528 last week, and $5.120 a month ago. The bigger picture is that diesel is still far above the year-ago level of $3.222, which keeps pressure on contractors, delivery drivers, service fleets, and other businesses that burn through fuel every day.
Still cheaper than Texas and the U.S.
The Arlington-area average remains under the Texas average on both fuels. AAA has Texas at $3.438 for regular gas and $4.449 for diesel, while the national AAA averages sit at $3.938 for regular and $5.040 for diesel. In other words, the local market is still running cheaper than both the state and the country, which helps keep daily commuting and route costs a bit more manageable here than in many other places.
National context points the same direction
The national picture lines up with the local move. The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s June 16 fuel update shows U.S. regular gasoline at $4.052 a gallon, down 9.4 cents from the previous week, and on-highway diesel at $5.059, down 15.1 cents week over week. That does not explain every local pump price in Arlington, but it does show the latest dip is part of a broader easing trend.
For households, the change is small but still useful. For small businesses, the difference can matter more when it is multiplied across trucks, deliveries, mowing crews, and regular service calls. If the trend continues into the next AAA check, drivers in the Arlington area may be able to stretch a tank a little further before prices close in on the Texas average.
If you are seeing especially high or low pump prices around Arlington, share the numbers you are finding locally.
