Arlington-area fuel prices ease again: regular at $3.48, diesel at $4.64
AAA’s June 9 check puts Fort Worth-Arlington regular at $3.4750 and diesel at $4.6390, both easing again but diesel still runs well above last year.
Regular gas in the Fort Worth-Arlington metro slipped to $3.4750 on June 9, according to AAA. That is down from $3.5060 yesterday, $3.7120 a week ago, and $4.1510 a month ago. It is still above the $2.9060 level from a year ago, but the short-term trend is moving lower for commuters, parents on school runs, and anyone watching the cost of everyday errands.
Diesel also edged down, reaching $4.6390 in the latest AAA check. That is below $4.6540 yesterday, $4.8290 last week, and $5.1590 last month. The year-ago comparison is still the eye-opener: diesel was $2.9990 then, which keeps fuel costs a bigger issue for delivery drivers, contractors, landscapers, shuttle operators, restaurants, and other businesses that burn a lot of fuel.
For broader context, AAA’s Texas average on June 9 was $3.6230 for regular and $4.7200 for diesel, while the national AAA average for regular was $4.1610. The Fort Worth-Arlington metro is sitting below both of those benchmarks for regular gas and below the Texas mark for diesel.
Local station prices still vary enough to matter. Arlington listings on Way.com showed regular prices ranging from the high $2s to the low $3s on June 8, a reminder that the metro average is useful for trend-spotting, but nearby pumps can still differ a lot on any given day.
Bottom line: fuel prices in the Arlington-area metro are easing again, which helps household budgets and business expense lines, even if diesel is still carrying more year-over-year pressure than regular gas. If you are filling up locally, send us the highest and lowest pump prices you are seeing.
