Chattanooga City Council Approves Incentives for United Airlines Houston Flights and Skate Park Contribution
City Council Approves Incentives for United Airlines Houston Flights
The Chattanooga City Council has approved a $150,000 incentive package to encourage United Airlines to establish non-stop flights from Chattanooga to Houston. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region. The flights are scheduled to begin on March 29, 2026, with two daily departures planned. This decision follows a $750,000 federal grant received in 2023, totaling approximately $1.1 million in incentives to support the new route.
$3 Million Contribution to New Skate Park
In addition to the airline incentives, the City Council has allocated $3 million for the development of a new skate park in Chattanooga. This contribution is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to invest in recreational facilities and promote community engagement. The skate park is expected to become a central hub for local skaters and attract visitors from surrounding areas.
