The City of Chattanooga, in partnership with Enterprise Community Partners and local foundations, has introduced the Faith-Based Development Initiative (FBDI). This program aims to convert underutilized church properties into affordable housing, addressing the city’s pressing housing needs. Mayor Tim Kelly emphasized the potential of this partnership, stating, “Houses of worship own a significant amount of underutilized land, and this untapped resource can help meet our housing needs.”
Recent Traffic Collisions with Injuries
Chattanooga emergency responders have been addressing several traffic incidents resulting in injuries. On January 27, a collision occurred at Market Street and West 20th Street, with injuries reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Additionally, on January 28, a traffic collision with injuries was reported at 400 Cedar Glen Circle. The number of people injured and the severity of the injuries have not been disclosed. Authorities are working to determine the circumstances leading to these incidents.
