Structure Fire in 1800 Block of Paxton Drive
On January 29, 2026, at 11:39 a.m., the Naperville Fire Department responded to a report of an exterior fire at a single-family residence on Paxton Drive. The fire, which began in a refuse container against the home, extended to the attic area. The sole occupant had safely evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival. Firefighters quickly suppressed the flames, declaring the fire under control at 11:49 a.m. The residence was deemed uninhabitable, with damages exceeding $100,000. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature. No injuries were reported to the resident or responding personnel. The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Naperville Police Department, the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, the Aurora Fire Department, the Naperville Electric Department, and the Naperville Transportation, Engineering, and Development Department.
Serious Traffic Crash on North Broadway Street
On January 28, 2026, at 6:51 p.m., a multi-vehicle traffic crash occurred at the intersection of North Broadway Street and Ingalls Avenue. A 31-year-old Lockport resident lost control of a Honda CR-V, crossing into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with a 23-year-old Plainfield resident’s Honda HR-V. The CR-V then struck two additional vehicles before leaving the roadway. Both the driver of the CR-V and the HR-V sustained serious injuries and were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center. The incident is under investigation.
