Fatal Crash at 50th St & Ames Ave
On February 2, 2026, a tragic two-vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of 50th Street and Ames Avenue in north Omaha. A 2001 Ford Escape crossed the median, striking a Subaru Outback and a nearby pole. The crash resulted in the deaths of two women, Felicia Warner (44) and Nyaguk Bel (30), and injuries to three other passengers in the SUV. The driver of the Subaru was uninjured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and none of the SUV occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
Two-Vehicle Collision at N 52nd St & Grand Ave
On February 1, 2026, emergency units responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries near the intersection of North 52nd Street and Grand Avenue in Omaha. The incident, reported around 5:48 p.m., involved at least two individuals who required medical attention. One male patient experienced arm pain, and another driver had not exited their vehicle upon arrival. Medics transported at least one individual to a nearby medical center for further evaluation. Traffic in the immediate area was temporarily impacted as crews secured the scene and managed vehicle recovery efforts.
Groundhog Day Celebration in Unadilla
On February 2, 2026, the village of Unadilla, known as the “Groundhog Capital of Nebraska,” hosted its annual Groundhog Day celebration.
