Orange Beach planning panel to hear comprehensive plan, Pirates Voyage and AC Hotel requests
The Orange Beach Planning Commission is scheduled to hold public hearings at 4 p.m. Aug. 10 on the city’s comprehensive plan, the proposed Pirates Voyage planned-unit development and a major modification to the AC Hotel planned-unit development. The meeting is scheduled at the city council chambers in the Orange Beach Municipal Complex, 4099 Orange Beach Boulevard.
The comprehensive-plan hearing and adoption matter was deferred from the July agenda to the Aug. 10 meeting. The commission is also scheduled to consider preliminary and final PUD approval for Pirates Voyage and rezoning more than 24 acres at 23150 Margaritaville Way from Mobile Home Park and Neighborhood Business to Planned Unit Development.
The initial Pirates Voyage phase is proposed on more than 13 acres and includes a dinner theater larger than 59,000 square feet. At 23370 Perdido Beach Boulevard, the AC Hotel proposal would retain a 100-key hotel and the building’s overall height while providing 160 total on-site parking spaces and eliminating previously approved off-site parking. It also would move some lodging rooms to the rooftop and add public access to the rooftop lounge.
No commission vote, recommendation or development timetable has been announced ahead of the scheduled hearing. The Aug. 10 meeting is listed as a regular Planning Commission meeting on the city’s 2026 schedule.
