Port St. Lucie police say a pickup struck an FPL utility pole and then crashed into the garage of a home on SE Morningside Boulevard on Monday afternoon. The downed pole briefly shut the street while crews secured live lines and cleared debris.

Port St. Lucie man charged in violent Martin County beach attack

The suspect was arrested days later after making incriminating statements during a mental health crisis call in Port St. Lucie, according to arrest records.
