The City of Port St. Lucie has permanently closed its Solid Waste Convenient Drop-Off Center on Cameo Boulevard, effective January 5, 2026. This decision was made due to declining usage and the financial impact of maintaining the site. The closure is expected to save the city approximately $2 million annually. Residents can still dispose of bulk waste through monthly curbside collection, self-hauling to the St. Lucie County landfill, or scheduling additional pickups for a fee. Traffic Incident on I-95

On January 29, 2026, authorities responded to a crash with reported injuries on the northbound side of I-95, just south of mile marker 121 in Port St. Lucie.
