Serious Crashes and Park Reopening Lead Glendale Headlines
Glendale, AZ – March 7, 2026 – A major crash, multiple injuries and a newly reopened park highlight a busy week across the city.
It has been a busy few days in Glendale, with public safety incidents and a long-awaited park reopening drawing attention across the city.
Life-Threatening Crash Closes Camelback Road
A serious crash near 93rd Avenue and Camelback Road left at least one person with life-threatening injuries this week. Police shut down Camelback Road in both directions between 91st and 95th avenues for several hours as investigators worked the scene.
Two heavily damaged vehicles were visible following the early morning collision. Glendale police have not yet released details about what led to the crash, but the incident caused significant traffic disruptions during the morning commute.
Three Hurt in Separate West Valley Collision
In another crash near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road, three people were injured in a serious collision. Emergency crews responded quickly and transported the victims to local hospitals.
While officials have not shared the full circumstances, the back-to-back incidents have renewed concerns about safety along busy Camelback Road corridors in the West Valley.
Bonsall Park North Reopens After Major Upgrade
On a brighter note, the City of Glendale recently celebrated the completion of major renovations at Bonsall Park North. The $3.3 million upgrade includes new basketball courts, a mini soccer pitch, improved lighting and irrigation systems, and refreshed pathways.
The northern portion of the park had been closed during construction. City leaders say the improvements are designed to modernize aging facilities and better meet growing demand for recreational space.
With spring weather settling in, the newly upgraded park is expected to see heavy use from families and sports leagues alike.
