City officials are still reviewing what caused the sudden collapse. Omaha’s soil conditions, particularly near the river basin, can make certain areas more vulnerable to erosion. Drivers should now see normal traffic flow restored through the busy corridor.

Early Morning House Fire

Omaha fire crews responded to a house fire near 40th and Seward streets early Thursday morning. Authorities say no injuries were reported, and everyone inside the home made it out safely.
