Wyoming signs temporary farm and fuel transport waivers
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed two executive orders on Oct. 8 that temporarily ease transportation restrictions for farm products and interstate fuel deliveries, according to his announcement.
Executive Order 2026-09 eases height and weight restrictions for agricultural products moving into or out of Wyoming. Gordon described it as broader than Executive Order 2026-08, signed earlier that week, which addressed livestock and livestock feed and extended an earlier order. Executive Order 2026-10 adopts a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration hours-of-service waiver for interstate gasoline and diesel transportation in Wyoming, including deliveries coming from outside the state.
Gordon cited drought impacts on agriculture and higher fuel costs. He said the Legislature can waive state fines or provide fuel and sales-tax refunds, and urged the incoming governor and lawmakers to consider those options or other emergency authority. That was a request, not an announced legislative action. The announcement does not specify the new orders’ exact limits, eligibility conditions or expiration dates.
