Cowboys’ 20th Oxnard training camp continues through August 18
The Dallas Cowboys’ 20th training-camp season in Oxnard continues Tuesday, August 4, with an 11:45 a.m. open practice at River Ridge Playing Fields.
The camp began July 29 and runs through August 18 at 2501 Ventura Road. The Cowboys arrived in Oxnard on July 27 and held their first padded practice August 3, according to the team’s official coverage. The remaining schedule gives residents, families and visitors several more opportunities to attend practices before the team leaves.
What to know about the August 4 practice
Admission is free, no ticket is required, and entry is first come, first served until capacity is reached. For the 11:45 a.m. practice, fan-experience guests may enter at 9:15 a.m., while general-public entry is scheduled for 9:45 a.m.
The City of Oxnard and Visit Oxnard say parking lots generally open about three hours before the scheduled practice, although times can change. Parking costs $20 per day for small vehicles and $40 for large vehicles, including RVs, buses and trailers. Parking is cash only, and capacity is limited.
Ride-share and accessibility information
Visitors using a ride-share service should use Stone Creek Drive in Oxnard for pickup and drop-off. Organizers recommend carpooling or ride sharing because parking is limited.
Training camp is outdoors, and no shaded areas are available. Visitors who need accessibility assistance should contact the City of Oxnard Facilities Department at (805) 385-7950. The event guidance asks people to provide at least 72 hours’ notice when possible so staff can arrange reasonable accommodations.
More public practices are scheduled
The Cowboys’ published calendar lists additional 11:45 a.m. open practices on August 6, August 8, August 9, August 13 and August 17. Public entry for an 11:45 a.m. practice is generally scheduled for 9:45 a.m., but visitors should check the latest event information before leaving home because times can change.
The camp is scheduled to close Tuesday, August 18, with a 2 p.m. joint practice against the New Orleans Saints at River Ridge Playing Fields. The joint practice is confirmed on the Cowboys’ calendar and in Visit Oxnard’s local event information; access and entry details should be verified before traveling.
Other announced programming includes the August 5 Dallas Cowboys NFL FLAG Training Camp for children ages 6 to 13. The free youth camp requires registration. Visit Oxnard also lists Heroes Appreciation Day on August 6 for military personnel, first responders and health care workers, with limited benefits available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A long-running Oxnard connection
Visit Oxnard identifies 2026 as the Cowboys’ 20th training-camp season in the city. The tourism authority also says the partnership is secured through 2030. Those facts document the length and continuation of the team’s relationship with Oxnard, but the available sources do not establish a specific increase in traffic, hotel bookings, sales or other local economic effects from this year’s camp.
For anyone attending Tuesday’s practice or a later session, the main planning points are free admission, early arrival, cash-only parking, limited capacity and outdoor conditions. Schedules and entry times remain subject to change.
