Parma fuel watch: Boise metro gas and diesel both ease
Boise metro regular gas and diesel both eased from last week and last month, giving Parma-area drivers relief while prices remain above last year.
Regular gasoline in the Boise City metro is lower in the short term, and diesel is easing too, according to AAA’s June 21, 2026 Idaho fuel table. For Parma-area readers, the latest metro check shows regular at $4.141 per gallon and diesel at $4.880.
Both prices are down from yesterday, last week and last month. Both also remain higher than a year ago, which keeps fuel costs a live budget issue for commuters, households, farms, contractors, delivery drivers and local service businesses.
Regular gas is lower than last week and last month
For regular gasoline, AAA lists the Boise City metro average at $4.141. That is down 1.9 cents from AAA’s yesterday average of $4.160.
The week-over-week move is larger. Regular is down 19.2 cents from $4.333 a week ago.
The month-over-month comparison is the clearest sign of relief for households and commuters. AAA lists Boise metro regular at $4.699 a month ago, meaning the current average is down 55.8 cents over that window.
The year-over-year comparison still points the other way. Regular gasoline in the Boise metro was $3.319 a year ago, so the June 21 average is 82.2 cents higher than last year’s mark.
Diesel is easing, but it remains the bigger cost
Diesel is also moving down in the short term. AAA lists Boise City metro diesel at $4.880, down 4.8 cents from yesterday’s $4.928 and down 25.0 cents from $5.130 a week ago.
Compared with a month ago, the diesel drop is sharper. The Boise metro diesel average was $5.645 a month ago, putting the current average 76.5 cents lower.
Even so, diesel remains much higher than last year. AAA’s year-ago Boise metro diesel figure was $3.572, meaning the current average is $1.308 higher. That matters beyond personal driving because diesel costs feed into farm work, hauling, construction, service calls, delivery routes and supply costs for local businesses.
Why this is a metro check, not a Parma city average
This update uses the Boise City metro fuel row for Parma-area readers because AAA’s selected Idaho table does not publish a separate Parma city average. The figures above are metro averages, not a station-by-station Parma price survey.
The connection is still relevant locally. The Bureau of Labor Statistics county-MSA crosswalk places Canyon County, Idaho, in the Boise City, ID metropolitan statistical area. Parma is in Canyon County, so the Boise metro row is the best supported local-market reference in the available AAA data.
State and U.S. context
AAA’s Idaho statewide averages on June 21 were $4.242 for regular gasoline and $4.979 for diesel. Those statewide figures are useful context, but they should not be read as Parma prices.
Nationally, the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s June 16 weekly update showed U.S. regular gasoline at $4.052 for June 15, down 9.4 cents from the prior week. The same EIA update listed U.S. on-highway diesel at $5.059, down 15.1 cents from the prior week. Those figures show the broader direction, but they are not local Boise metro or Parma prices.
What to watch around Parma
For Parma commuters, families running errands, weekend travelers and workers driving between Canyon County communities, the recent drop can help at the margin. For farms, contractors, delivery drivers, restaurants with supply or delivery costs, and service businesses with crews on the road, diesel is still the number to watch.
The next question is whether the week-over-week and month-over-month easing continues, or whether prices stay elevated compared with last year. Readers can help sharpen the next update by sharing the highest and lowest pump prices they are seeing around Parma and nearby routes.
