Anaheim residents: apply for A/C Tune-Up rebate (up to $100 / $150) — updated July 6, 2026
Anaheim Public Utilities’ A/C Tune-Up Rebate Program lets eligible residents claim up to $100—up to $150 for income-qualified customers.
Anaheim Public Utilities updated its A/C Tune-Up Rebate Program on July 6, 2026. If you’re eligible, the program offers a rebate of up to $100 for an A/C tune-up, or up to $150 for income-qualified customers.
To avoid delays, the key is paperwork and timing: keep your HVAC invoice and submit your application within the window required by the program.
Rebate basics: amounts and key participation rules
- Up to $100 for most residential customers (or up to $150 if income-qualified).
- You can generally participate once every 12 months.
- Applications must be submitted within 1 year of the A/C tune-up service date.
- Rebates are limited and subject to available funding, and the incentive amount cannot exceed the purchase price.
Who qualifies (including income-qualified eligibility)
- The program is for residential customers of Anaheim Public Utilities.
- If you’re applying as an income-qualified customer, the program points to low-income limits as defined by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (adjusted annually).
- Before applying, make sure the person listed on the Anaheim Public Utilities account is a responsible party and at least 18 years old.
Before you book the tune-up: use a licensed HVAC contractor
APU says to schedule your A/C tune-up with a licensed HVAC contractor. The application/checklist includes items such as:
- Refrigerant charge diagnosis and recharging as needed
- Checking and cleaning evaporator and condenser coils (if feasible and accessible)
- Replacing air filters (electrostatic filters may be cleaned)
- Verifying adequate air flow
- Verifying programmable thermostat settings (if applicable)
- Confirming blower motor, compressor, and condenser fan amperages match manufacturer specifications
What to submit: your HVAC invoice and the rebate form
Whether you apply online or by mail, you’ll need the A/C Tune-Up Rebate Application and an HVAC invoice that includes the job performed, the amount paid, and the service (tune-up) date.
How to apply: online or mail
- Online: apply through APU’s rebate processing tool.
- By mail: mail your completed application and invoice to Anaheim Public Utilities (Attn: A/C Tune-Up) at 201 S. Anaheim Blvd., Suite 801, Anaheim, CA 92805.
Timing: don’t miss the 1-year deadline
APU’s program materials require applications to be submitted within 1 year of the A/C tune-up service date, and participation is limited to once every 12 months. APU also notes that insufficient or incorrect information may delay processing.
If you’d like help, APU lists a rebate processing phone line for application assistance.
