Anaheim Transit Shift, OC Vibe Parks Plan, and New Federal Funds for River Bridge

Anaheim, CA – March 31, 2026 – Transit changes, new park designs at OC Vibe, and federal funds for a river bridge lead local developments.

Anaheim, CA – March 31, 2026 – It’s a pivotal week for Anaheim, with major transportation changes taking effect, new park space unveiled in the Platinum Triangle, and fresh federal dollars headed to a long-planned river crossing.

ART Service Ends, OCTA Steps In

The Anaheim Transportation Network, known for operating resort-area ART buses, officially winds down service today, March 31. The closure marks the end of a system that has shuttled visitors and workers around the Disneyland and Convention Center areas for decades.

Orange County Transportation Authority officials say existing OC Bus routes already cover most former ART corridors, including key stretches along Harbor Boulevard, Katella Avenue, Ball Road and State College Boulevard. Youth riders continue to travel free, and regular fares remain capped daily.

For Anaheim residents and hospitality workers, the transition consolidates transit under one countywide operator. City leaders are expected to monitor ridership and service frequency in the resort district closely in the coming months.

OC Vibe Unveils 20 Acres of Parks

On Monday, developers behind the $4 billion OC Vibe project released new details on a 20-acre network of parks and plazas surrounding Honda Center.

The plan includes three miles of walkable trails, outdoor art installations and multiple public gathering spaces designed to link the arena, ARTIC transit hub and nearby neighborhoods. The first public plaza is projected to open in early 2027.

City officials have positioned the Platinum Triangle buildout as a long-term economic development engine, blending housing, hospitality, entertainment and open space in one of Anaheim’s fastest-growing districts.

$2 Million for Food Businesses and River Bridge

Federal funding announcements this week will also shape Anaheim’s infrastructure pipeline.

More than $500,000 is earmarked to support Store One, a city-backed initiative aimed at helping local food entrepreneurs launch and grow. An additional $1.6 million will fund final design and construction of a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Santa Ana River.

The bridge is part of the broader OC River Walk vision, intended to strengthen connections between Anaheim and Orange while improving access to trails, parks and future mixed-use development.
