Bridgeport Woman Convicted in 2024 Home Invasion

Bridgeport, CT — February 5, 2026 — A jury convicted Tashi Sistrunk, 37, of home invasion, conspiracy to commit home invasion, second-degree assault, and risk of injury. The charges stem from a July 22, 2024, incident where Sistrunk and three accomplices broke into a residence, assaulting two adults. A 911 call captured the victim’s screams as Sistrunk repeatedly struck her. Sentencing is pending.

City Celebrates PURA’s Decision on Aquarion Water Company

Bridgeport, CT — February 5, 2026 — Municipal and regional leaders across southwestern Connecticut are celebrating the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s (PURA) decision to deny the sale of Aquarion Water Company from Eversource to a new public authority, the Aquarion Water Authority (AWA). The AWA would have operated alongside the South-Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority (RWA). This decision is seen as a victory for local control over water resources.
