Responders attempted life-saving measures at the scene, and the driver of the F-150 was taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The driver of the F-250 was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. Portions of Centerville Turnpike were closed while crash reconstruction work continued.

House fire displaces residents

Firefighters also handled a structure fire on Land of Promise Road this week. Crews were called to the 1900 block in the afternoon on March 5, and at least one report said three people were displaced. Traffic impacts lingered as the roadway was closed in that area during the response and cleanup.
