VDL plans Oakwood expansion with about 120 projected jobs
VDL Groep plans an estimated $77 million expansion of its Oakwood facility, a project projected to add about 120 jobs in Hall County. The company plans to buy and expand the building it currently leases at 5459 Aloha Way, adding large-milling capability and an expanded cleanroom for semiconductor capital equipment.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced the plan on Oct. 13, 2026. The investment is an estimate spread over several years, and the jobs are projected; neither the spending nor the hires are completed outcomes.
VDL currently employs approximately 70 people in Hall County. The projected new positions include machining, welding, sheet-metal fabrication, engineering, administrative support, maintenance and management.
Hiring for the new positions is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028.
