Killeen schedules Back to School Splash Bash for Aug. 8
Killeen Parks and Recreation scheduled its annual Back to School Splash Bash for Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Zenner Family Aquatic Center, giving local families a city-organized activity tied to the start of the school year.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at 1800 E. Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen. The city described the Splash Bash as a family event intended to help residents cool off during the Texas heat and prepare for the new school year.
What is not yet confirmed
The city notice does not provide expected or actual attendance totals. The available sources also do not confirm which supplies, if any, will be distributed at the Splash Bash or which partner organizations will participate.
A separate Central Texas school-supply drive lists Killeen drop-off locations and accepts donations through Aug. 7. The available information does not establish that the drive is an official Splash Bash partner, so the two efforts should not be treated as the same program.
No post-event operational, safety or incident report was available before publication. The next known step is the scheduled Aug. 8 event; attendance and other results remain unavailable until the city issues a follow-up update.
