Killeen said Oct. 28 that portions of the IH-14 access roads between the Jasper Road overpass and Fort Hood Street (SH-195) are scheduled to close Monday, Nov. 2, for repairs to a damaged water transmission line. The notice concerns the access roads; it does not announce a closure of IH-14โs main lanes. The city expects the repair project to be completed by Dec. 31, 2026, but that is not a stated date through which road closures will continue.
Motorists should use alternate routes, allow extra travel time and follow traffic controls, the city said. Its notice does not specify daily closure hours or which lanes will be affected. The city said the repair contractor has secured necessary permits, materials and safety equipment.
The city says a third-party contractor struck the line on Dec. 15, 2025, disrupting water service and prompting a boil-water notice for customers in Killeenโs middle-pressure plane at that time. That was a past disruption; the cityโs notice does not announce a new boil-water advisory.
